More than tutoring
Your child’s complete homeschool maths program.
You remain responsible for your child’s homeschool registration. I take care of the mathematics curriculum, teaching, planning, assessment and reporting—so you have structure, evidence and a clear learning path.
Explicit teaching
Concepts are clearly modelled, practised with support and revisited as needed. Students can move above year level once foundations are secure.
Assessment & reporting
Online assessment and in-person work inform grading, feedback, Term 1 and 3 progress updates, and formal reports in Terms 2 and 4.
Supported home learning
Students receive a clear plan for approximately one hour of maths on each of the other four weekdays. Their work is checked and guides what comes next.
A purposeful three-hour morning
Learn independently. Connect socially. Apply maths meaningfully.
Personalised maths learning
Explicit teaching, guided practice, individual work and feedback within the small group.
Break & social connection
Time for morning tea, conversation and genuine connection with homeschool peers of a similar age.
Maths in Action
A collaborative term project using maths for a real purpose—through STEM, financial literacy, planning, budgeting, research, design or practical life skills.

I’m Katrina Mardell, a qualified teacher with 20 years of teaching experience and 12 years as a Curriculum Leader.
I believe students learn mathematics best when teaching is clear, progress is visible and learning feels purposeful. My role is to know each student—where they are now, what they need next and how to help them grow in confidence and independence.

2027 program details
Everything families need to know.
When
Weekday mornings, 9:00 am–12:00 pm. The first group commences Tuesday, 2 February 2027. Further days will be allocated according to year-level interest.
Who
Registered homeschool students entering Year 6, Year 7 or Year 8 in 2027. Each year level meets in a separate group.
What to bring
A charged laptop, drink and morning tea. Curriculum resources, learning materials, stationery and project materials are supplied.
If a session is missed
Students receive the relevant work and feedback, with a 30-minute Zoom check-in available to help them prepare for the following week.
Joining during the year
Students may join when a place is available. Families provide a summary of previous learning so the new plan continues their learning pathway.
School holidays
The program follows school terms. There is no attendance or fee during the school holidays.
